Terms
of sale
The reference contract between you and Starmine. This page is authoritative: version of August 8, 2026.
Version of August 8, 2026. It replaces any earlier version, including the terms of December 11, 2017. The version in force is published at all times on this page; no other document is authoritative.
These terms of sale (the “Terms”) bind Starlancer S.R.L., a limited liability company under Romanian law whose registered office is at Aleea Privighetorilor 86P, 014031 Bucharest, Romania, which operates the brand Starmine and the site starmine.net (hereafter “Starmine”), and any person, consumer or professional, who orders a service on this site (hereafter the “Client”). Contact: support@starmine.net.
Article 1 · Purpose and definitions
These Terms govern the rental of preinstalled Minecraft servers. The service includes the provision of reserved hardware resources (AMD Ryzen 9 processors, NVMe Gen4 storage, datacenter located in Paris), a connection address and an administration panel: console, FTP and Web FTP access, plugin and modpack installation, backups, MySQL database, subdomain and delegated access.
In this document:
- The Service: the rented Minecraft server and its associated features.
- The Offer: the configuration chosen at the time of ordering (RAM, storage, options).
- The Panel: the administration interface accessible from the Client account.
- The Prepaid Period: the length of service paid in advance at the time of ordering.
- The Grace Period: the period following expiry, during which data is kept before permanent deletion.
Article 2 · Acceptance of the terms and electronic signature
Every order requires prior and unreserved acceptance of the Terms in force on the day of the order, expressed through a checkbox. Confirming the order by double click, combined with authentication of the Client account, constitutes an electronic signature which has, between the parties, the value of a handwritten signature.
The version applicable to an order is the one accepted at the time of that order. Starmine may update these Terms: changes apply to orders and extensions made after their publication on this page, never to a period already paid.
Article 3 · Client account
Ordering requires an account. You undertake to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date: it is used in particular to issue invoices. Your credentials are personal and confidential; any action performed from your account is deemed to come from you, including through the delegated access you grant from the Panel.
If you are a minor, registration and ordering take place under the control and responsibility of the holder of parental authority.
Article 4 · Ordering and provisioning
You choose a plan, a duration and a version or modpack, then you pay. The total amount is displayed before payment. The order becomes firm upon payment; installation is automatic and the server is made available within a few minutes, with its connection address and the Panel credentials.
By confirming the order, you expressly request that performance of the Service begin immediately, without waiting for the end of the withdrawal period (see Article 10).
Article 5 · Free trial
Starmine offers a free trial, with no bank card and no payment method: a server on the SMALL plan (2 GB of RAM) for a four-hour slot, among the sixteen slots made available, subject to availability. The trial is limited to one per account.
At the end of the slot, trial data is erased; you can download it over FTP before the deadline. The trial creates no obligation to buy: it lets you test the hardware and the Panel before ordering. The practical details are described on the free trial page.
Article 6 · Prices
Prices are shown in euros, all taxes included, on the pricing page. Plans start at 2.49 € incl. VAT per month with no commitment. A discount applies to longer prepaid periods, according to the scale shown on the pricing page; it is locked in for the whole period paid. The price of a Prepaid Period is guaranteed for that entire period: a price increase never applies to what you have already paid.
Starmine may change its prices by informing clients thirty days in advance, by e-mail and by a visible notice on the site. New prices apply to subsequent orders and extensions.
Article 7 · Payment and invoicing
Payment is made at the time of ordering, by bank card, PayPal, Paysafecard or Allopass. Depending on the chosen method, transaction fees may be added; the exact total amount is displayed before confirmation.
The Service is prepaid: no recurring debit is set up and no debt can build up. An order whose payment fails or does not complete is simply not executed.
An invoice is issued automatically after each payment and remains downloadable from the Panel.
Article 8 · Duration, no tacit renewal, and grace period
The Service runs from the moment it is made available, for the duration chosen at the time of ordering. No tacit renewal is applied: at expiry, the Service stops, unless you voluntarily extend it from the Panel.
After expiry, your data is kept for a Grace Period whose exact end is shown in the Panel by a countdown. During the Prepaid Period and the Grace Period, you can download all of your files over FTP. At the end of the Grace Period, the data is permanently deleted and can no longer be restored, backups included.
Article 9 · Plan change
Moving up to a bigger plan is possible at any time: the remaining time is recalculated pro rata at the new price. Moving down to a smaller plan is done by migration: the remaining time is converted into credit usable on the new order.
Article 10 · Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have a fourteen-day withdrawal period for distance purchases. Since the Service is performed immediately, you request at the time of ordering that it be performed without waiting for the end of that period, and you acknowledge losing your right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed (Articles L221-25 and L221-28 of the French Consumer Code). That is the meaning of the box ticked at the time of ordering.
In practice: as long as the server has not been installed, withdrawal remains possible. If you withdraw after performance has begun but before its end, an amount proportional to the service already provided remains due. The free trial lets you test before buying.
The procedure is detailed on the refund page.
Article 11 · Client obligations and acceptable use
You are responsible for the content hosted on your server, the plugins and mods you install, the behavior of the players who connect to it and the people to whom you grant delegated access. You undertake to comply with the law, these Terms and the Minecraft usage terms issued by Mojang Studios.
The following are prohibited in particular:
- hosting or distributing unlawful content (see Article 12) ;
- using the Service to harm a third party: denial-of-service attacks, network scanning, phishing, unsolicited mass mailing, distribution of malware;
- reselling or subletting the server without Starmine's written consent;
- diverting the server from its purpose: the Service is designed for a Minecraft server and its tools, not for cryptocurrency mining, computation or traffic relaying;
- using ports other than those assigned, or circumventing the limits of the Offer;
- deliberately degrading the operation of the shared infrastructure or disturbing other clients.
Article 12 · Hosted content and reporting
Starmine stores your server's content on your behalf and exercises no general or prior monitoring over it. Anyone can report manifestly unlawful content from the report content page or by e-mail to support@starmine.net with the subject “Signalement”.
Manifestly unlawful content is removed or made inaccessible promptly. Starmine cooperates with judicial and administrative authorities under the conditions provided by law. Reporting content one knows to be lawful in order to obtain its removal is a criminal offense.
Article 13 · Availability and maintenance
Starmine aims for 99.99 % availability, measured and published on the service status page. This objective is not a contractual commitment with automatic penalties; in the event of prolonged unavailability attributable to Starmine, compensation is provided under the conditions of the refund page.
Planned interruptions (maintenance, updates) are announced in advance. Incidents can be followed in real time on the status page, which is the reference for establishing unavailability durations.
Article 14 · Backups and data retention
An automatic backup of your server is made every day and stored on a machine separate from the one hosting it. Five backups are kept in rotation: the sixth replaces the oldest. You can also trigger one manual backup per twenty-four-hour period and restore selectively from the Panel.
The backup is a safety net, not long-term archiving: because of the rotation, an old state eventually disappears. For what really matters, keep your own copies: a full download over FTP is possible at any time. The detailed workings are described on the backups page.
Article 15 · Suspension and termination
In the event of a breach of Articles 11 or 12, of manifestly unlawful content or of a threat to the security of the infrastructure, Starmine may suspend the Service, without notice if urgency requires it, and informs you stating the reason. Where the situation allows, you are invited to remedy it. A suspension for breach does not extend the Prepaid Period and gives no right to any refund.
In the event of a serious or repeated breach, Starmine may terminate the Service without compensation. On your side, no commitment binds you: to end the Service, simply do not extend it.
If Starmine permanently ceases to provide the Service for a reason not attributable to you, the unused period is refunded pro rata.
Article 16 · Refunds
The refund policy page details the procedure and the cases covered. In short:
- withdrawal: under the conditions of Article 10 ;
- prolonged unavailability attributable to Starmine: compensation in service time or in credit, on request by ticket, the service status page being the reference; report the incident without delay, ideally within forty-eight hours;
- permanent interruption of the Service not attributable to the Client: refund of the unused period pro rata;
- not refundable: a server installed and used, a sizing mistake (the plan change exists for that), a mod or plugin incompatibility unrelated to our infrastructure, a suspension following a breach.
Refunds are made using the payment method of the original order.
Article 17 · Liability and force majeure
Starmine undertakes to provide the Service with care and competence. It cannot be held liable for: malfunctions of the Internet network and of equipment outside its infrastructure (access providers, telecommunications networks, the Client's hardware); the content, plugins and mods installed by the Client or by third parties; the use the Client and their players make of the server.
Except in the case of gross negligence or willful misconduct, and without prejudice to the rights the law grants consumers, Starmine's liability is limited to the sums actually paid by the Client for the current Prepaid Period.
Neither party is liable for a failure caused by force majeure within the meaning of Article 1218 of the French Civil Code. Obligations are suspended for its duration; if the impediment is permanent, the contract ends and the unused period is refunded pro rata.
Article 18 · Intellectual property and trademarks
The elements of the site and the Panel (interface, texts, illustrations, code) are protected by intellectual property law and may not be reused without authorization. The content you host remains your property: Starmine holds over it only the technical rights strictly necessary for hosting and backups.
You warrant that you hold the rights to the content, plugins, mods and resources you install. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios; Starmine is neither affiliated with Mojang Studios nor with Microsoft, and is not endorsed by them.
Article 19 · Personal data and cookies
The data controller is Starlancer S.R.L. Data is processed to perform the contract, issue invoices and secure the infrastructure. The privacy policy details the data collected, retention periods, recipients and your rights, which you can exercise with support@starmine.net.
You can lodge a complaint with the ANSPDCP, the Romanian supervisory authority the operator answers to, or, if you live in France, with the CNIL. The site only sets technical cookies: see the cookie policy.
Article 20 · Governing law, mediation and disputes
These Terms are written in French and governed by French law, without depriving consumers of the mandatory protections of their country of habitual residence.
In the event of a dispute, contact support first: most situations are resolved by ticket or by e-mail. Failing an agreement, consumers may turn free of charge to a consumer mediator.
Failing an amicable resolution, the dispute is brought before the competent courts. Consumers may bring the case before the courts of the place where they lived when the contract was concluded.
