What data we collect, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights.
Version of August 8, 2026
The data controller
The site starmine.net and the Starmine service are operated by Starlancer S.R.L., a limited liability company under Romanian law, whose registered office is at Aleea Privighetorilor 86P, 014031 Bucharest, Romania. It is the one that determines which data is collected and what is done with it: within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), it is the data controller. The full registration details are in the legal notice.
We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the regulation does not require one at our scale. For any question about your data, a single point of entry: support@starmine.net.
What we do not do
- No collection for advertising purposes, no profiling
- No sale or rental of your data, to anyone
- No third-party analytics, no advertising tracker
- No fully automated decision producing legal effects on you
Data, purposes, legal bases, durations
The table below sums up everything we process. If a piece of data is not in it, we do not collect it.
| Data | Why | Legal basis | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account username, e-mail address, encrypted password | Create your account, log you into the panel | Performance of the contract | Life of the account, then deletion on request |
| Billing last name, first name, postal address, phone, country | Issue invoices, meet our accounting obligations | Legal obligation | Ten years, accounting archive |
| Payment chosen method, transaction reference | Collect the order, trace the payments | Performance of the contract | Ten years, with the invoice |
| Technical IP address, access logs, session identifier | Secure the infrastructure, detect abuse, diagnose failures | Legitimate interest | Twelve months |
| Service server configuration, files, application logs, backups | Provide the ordered server and restore it if needed | Performance of the contract | Duration of the service, plus the grace period |
| Support tickets and e-mail exchanges | Answer you, follow up on incidents | Performance of the contract | Life of the account |
| Free trial trial server data | Let you test before buying | Pre-contractual measures | Erased at the end of the trial |
Your bank card number is not in this table for a good reason: we never see it. It is entered directly with the payment provider, who only sends us the confirmation of the transaction.
When a service expires, a countdown in the panel materializes the grace period: your files remain downloadable over FTP until it ends, then are permanently deleted, backups included. The same principle applies to the free trial, at the scale of its slot.
Who receives your data
Your data only passes through the hands strictly needed:
- Our team, whose access to production data is restricted to the people who need it
- The payment providers (bank card, PayPal, Paysafecard, Allopass), who receive only the information needed for the transaction
- The French infrastructure operator running the Paris datacenter where the servers run
- The transactional e-mail service, for order confirmations, invoices and expiry alerts
- The authorities, only within the framework of a legal requisition
Each provider is bound by a contract that frames the use of the data and forbids any reuse for its own account.
Transfers outside the European Union
None, in ordinary operation. The infrastructure is in Paris, the publisher is established in Romania: your data stays in the European Union. When you pay through an international payment provider, it processes the transaction under its own responsibility and its own privacy policy, which we invite you to read.
Your players' data
The server you rent may collect data about your players: usernames, IP addresses in the logs, conversations. For that data, you decide and you answer for it. Starmine merely hosts it on your behalf and deletes it with the server, at the end of the grace period.
Your rights, one by one
- Access: obtain a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification: correct inaccurate data, directly from the panel for most fields
- Erasure: have your account and associated data deleted, except the invoices the law requires us to keep
- Restriction: temporarily freeze the use of your data while something is checked
- Objection: object to processing based on our legitimate interest, for reasons relating to your particular situation
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format. For your server's files, FTP already does that very well
To exercise a right, write to support@starmine.net from the e-mail address associated with your account, stating the right invoked. We answer within one month; if the request is complex, this period can be extended by two months and we let you know. Exercising your rights is free. In case of serious doubt about your identity, proof may be requested; it is destroyed after verification.
Complaint to an authority
If you believe your rights are not respected, start by writing to us: most situations are resolved that way. You can also contact a supervisory authority: the ANSPDCP, the Romanian authority Starlancer S.R.L. answers to (dataprotection.ro), or the CNIL if you live in France (cnil.fr).
Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in the clear. Exchanges with the site and the panel are encrypted. Backups are kept on a machine separate from the one running your server. Access to production data is restricted and logged.
No system is infallible. In the event of a data breach likely to create a high risk for you, we inform you directly and notify the supervisory authority within the deadlines set by the regulation.
Minors
Subscribing to a paid plan requires the capacity to contract: a minor must go through the holder of parental authority. If you discover that a minor created an account without authorization, write to us: we will delete the account and the associated data.
Cookies
The site only sets technical cookies, with no consent banner and no third-party analytics. The details, cookie by cookie, with durations, are on the dedicated page: cookie policy.
