When the host of a Valheim game leaves the session, the world freezes and nobody makes progress anymore. A dedicated server separates the world from the players: your group connects whenever it wants, keeps clearing the Swamp, extending the hall or preparing a boss ritual while you sleep.
Hosting Valheim on your own PC means sharing your processor between the game and the server, and handing out your personal IP address to every guest. At Starmine, the world runs on Ryzen 9 at 5.4 GHz with DDR5 ECC and NVMe Gen4, in a Paris datacenter permanently protected against DDoS attacks. Your friends join through a free subdomain, available day and night.
The panel sets the server mode: Steam only, Steam and Xbox crossplay, or BepInEx mods. There you set the world name, the password and whether the server shows in the public list. The live console, the file manager and scheduled tasks remain available, along with automatic backups and a world reset from the panel.
Our Valheim plans start at 4 GB, which comfortably covers a group exploring a new world. Usage rises with the size of the bases you build, the number of tamed creatures and the mods installed. If your world ages and fills up, move to a larger plan.
Yes. The panel offers a server mode with BepInEx, and the web file manager lets you drop your plugins into the expected folders. Keep in mind that every player must install the same mods on their side, otherwise the connection fails or behavior diverges.
No, the two modes are mutually exclusive. When you enable Steam and Xbox crossplay from the panel, your BepInEx files stay on the server but are no longer loaded at startup. You have to choose: either a server open to Xbox players, or a modded server reserved for Steam. You can switch at any time from the panel.
A local server depends on your PC being on, on your connection and on your presence: nobody plays when you close the game. With us, the world runs continuously on a dedicated machine, protected against DDoS attacks, without sharing your bandwidth or your IP address.
Yes, the panel's web file manager is used to upload the save files of your existing world. Stop the server, upload your files, then restart and set the world name in the panel so that it matches. Your friends then find their builds and their progress again.
The panel manages the server password and whether it shows in the public list. By removing the server from the list and keeping a password shared only with your group, only your friends connect. Both settings can be changed at any time.
The server is delivered installed and started within minutes of ordering. You then choose the mode and the world name in the panel, and pass the subdomain on to your group. If you change your mind, switching to another game in the catalog is free of charge.
