Chernarus waits for no one: open your DayZ world to your survivors

DayZ remembers everything: the bases built, the stashes buried, the vehicles left by the roadside. On a dedicated server, that world keeps existing without you. Your players log in at night, set up their camp, raid a rival, and find their progress waiting when they wake up. A game launched from a player's PC stops as soon as they close the game.

Hosting DayZ at home means leaving your IP address visible to everyone and depending on your connection. Our Ryzen 9 machines at 5.4 GHz, with DDR5 ECC and NVMe Gen4, run around the clock in a Paris datacenter, behind included DDoS protection. The server stays online when your PC is off, and it shares its memory with no other software.

The panel exposes the serverDZ.cfg settings without a text editor: server name, password, admin password, player count, signature verification, first-person view, crosshair, personal light, darker nights, time and night speed, in-game voice. Chernarus and Livonia are available, and the Workshop page installs mods from the panel.

Frequently asked questions about hosting DayZ (Experimental)

How much memory for Chernarus and its mods?

Our DayZ plans start at 8 GB, which covers Chernarus or Livonia with a group of players and a selection of mods. The longer the mod list grows and the more built bases pile up, the more memory matters. The panel statistics show you actual usage before you decide to take more.

How do mods get onto the server?

Through the panel's Workshop page. You search for the mod in the Steam Workshop, you start the installation, and the agent takes care of the rest: downloading the files, copying the signature keys to the expected location, declaring the mod to the server. All that is left is a restart so players load the same list as you.

What if I run the server from home?

A server running on your machine stops when you turn off the PC, exposes your personal IP address and shares your processor with everything else running alongside. At Starmine, your server runs in a datacenter in Paris, stays online when your PC is off and sits behind permanent DDoS protection.

Can I change map, Chernarus or Livonia?

Both official maps are available: Chernarus and Livonia. The choice is made from the panel, and you can start over on the other map later. Remember to grab a backup of your current world before switching, since each map has its own persistence and its own structures.

How do I set the length of the nights?

The panel gives access to time speed and night speed, two separate settings that decide the length of a day and that of a night. The darker nights option is there too, as is the personal light, if you want to make the night hours truly painful.

Can I force first-person view?

Yes, first-person view is one of the settings exposed by the panel, like the crosshair and signature verification. You can therefore build a strictly first-person server, or leave third person available. The change is written to serverDZ.cfg and applies at the next restart.

How long until the server is online?

The server is delivered installed and started within a few minutes of the order. You receive your panel access and a subdomain to pass on to your players. All that is left is to set the player count, the password if you want one, and to install your mods. Support answers in French by ticket.
