The three numbers, in plain words

A plan boils down to three numbers. Here is what each one does, without detours.

Memory

It decides almost everything. It carries the loaded world, the entities and the mods. Too tight, the server slows down then stops dead. It is the one number not to skimp on.

Cores

Minecraft computes its world on a single core, very fast: frequency is what counts, and our Ryzen 9s reach 5.4 GHz. The extra cores serve the side worlds and the backups.

The disk

A vanilla world weighs a few hundred megabytes. A modpack with its explored maps can reach several tens of gigabytes. NVMe matters as much as its size: it makes the worlds load.

The three mistakes we see most often

Choosing on player count

It is the most common reflex, and the least good. Twenty players in vanilla fit on 4 GB; five players on a heavy modpack need 12. Look first at what you are installing, the count comes after.

Going too small “just to try”

A server short on memory does not slow down gradually: it freezes, then stops. Your players experience it as an outage. To try, take a free trial slot instead: it is a real machine, for four hours.

Going too big out of caution

Unused memory does not make a server faster. Since the plan change is immediate and recalculated pro rata, the reasonable margin is one tier, not three.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I pick the wrong plan?

You change it from the panel, in a few seconds, without reinstalling and without losing your world. Nothing is charged or refunded: the remaining time is recalculated pro rata. Going up shortens it, going down lengthens it.

How much memory for a modpack?

A light modpack, under a hundred mods, fits on 4 GB. Between one and two hundred mods, count 8 GB. Beyond that, or with packs known for their appetite, 12 GB is a reasonable starting point. The modpack's page on CurseForge almost always states the recommended memory: follow it, it is reliable.

Can I try before paying?

Yes, with no bank card. Sixteen four-hour trial slots run on the same machines as the paid plans, with the full panel. If the server suits you, you move to a paid plan keeping the machine, its world and its address. See the free slots.

Are the announced cores really dedicated?

Yes. These are not cores shared between customers: each plan reserves its own on an AMD Ryzen 9 7900 clocked at 5.4 GHz. That is what matters for Minecraft, whose world simulation sits on a single core and therefore depends on its frequency.

Is the player count limited by the plan?

No, none of our plans limits the slots. The real limit is memory and processor frequency: the player ranges shown in the table are observed orders of magnitude, not locks.
